If you have a Beverage, you might want to reverse its directivity with the flip of a switch.
Summary
The 2-wire reversible Beverage is similar to its single-wire predecessor—with the exception that it is strung with two wires spaced with insulators. This is equivalent to using open-line transmission line as the Beverage’s antenna wire. This enables the 2-wire Beverage to (i) collect radio signals from the “ether” (common mode) or (ii) convey them from the far end to the feedpoint as a balanced transmission line (differential mode). The 2-wire feedpoint circuit, seen above, consists of two RF transformers switched by relays needed to toggle between common and differential modes. Power is supplied through the coaxial cable.
